Club Rules
General Conduct
- Respect: All members, guests, and visitors must treat others with respect and courtesy
- Safety: Members are responsible for their own safety and the safety of others
- Equipment: Club equipment must be treated with care and returned after use
- Cleanliness: Help keep the hall clean - clean up after yourself
- No Smoking: The facility is smoke-free at all times
- Alcohol: Alcohol consumption is subject to approval for special events only
Facility Use
- Non-Marking Shoes: Only non-marking sports shoes are permitted on the playing surface
- Equipment: Do not move tables or barriers without permission
- Valuables: The club is not responsible for lost or stolen property
- Children: Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times
- Practice Times: Members may practice during open hall times except during scheduled fixtures
Membership Requirements
- Registration: All players must be registered members to participate in club activities
- Fees: Membership fees and session fees must be paid as required
- Insurance: All members are covered by club insurance during official club activities
- Behavior: Continued membership is subject to adherence to club rules and code of conduct
Competition Rules
Club Competitions
- Eligibility: Only current members may participate in club competitions
- Registration: Players must register for fixtures and competitions as required
- Punctuality: Arrive on time for scheduled matches
- Equipment: Players must use approved table tennis equipment
- Scoring: Matches follow ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) rules
- Disputes: Any disputes should be referred to the match referee or committee
Tournament Play
- Entry: Tournament entries must be submitted by the specified deadline
- Fees: Entry fees must be paid at time of registration
- Withdrawal: Players withdrawing after the draw is made may forfeit their entry fee
- Conduct: All players must follow ITTF rules and tournament-specific regulations
- Results: Match results must be reported immediately after completion
ITTF Basic Rules
Games are played to 11 points (must win by 2 points). Key rules include:
- Service alternates every 2 points
- Ball must bounce once on server’s side, then once on receiver’s side
- Ball must be tossed at least 16cm for service
- If ball touches net during service, a “let” is called and service is retaken
- In doubles, service must go from right half-court to right half-court diagonally

Code of Conduct
Expected Behavior
All members, guests, and visitors are expected to:
- Be Respectful: Show respect to all players, officials, coaches, and spectators
- Be Sporting: Display good sportsmanship in victory and defeat
- Be Honest: Play fairly and honestly at all times
- Be Responsible: Take responsibility for your own behavior and actions
- Be Inclusive: Welcome players of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds
- Be Safe: Look out for your own safety and that of others
Unacceptable Behavior
The following behaviors are not acceptable:
- Verbal Abuse: Offensive language, harassment, or verbal intimidation
- Physical Aggression: Any form of physical violence or intimidation
- Discrimination: Discrimination based on age, gender, race, religion, or ability
- Cheating: Deliberately breaking rules or misleading officials
- Damage: Deliberate damage to equipment or facilities
- Disruption: Behavior that disrupts play or club activities
Consequences
Violations of the code of conduct may result in:
- Verbal warning
- Written warning
- Suspension from club activities
- Termination of membership
- Referral to appropriate authorities (in serious cases)
Junior Player Guidelines
For Junior Players
- Respect: Respect coaches, officials, other players, and parents
- Try Your Best: Always give your best effort
- Learn: Focus on learning and improving, not just winning
- Have Fun: Remember that table tennis is meant to be enjoyable
- Equipment: Take care of club equipment
For Parents & Guardians
- Support: Encourage and support your child positively
- Respect: Respect coaches’ decisions and teaching methods
- Behavior: Model good sportsmanship and respectful behavior
- Supervision: Remain at the venue or ensure your child can be safely supervised
- Communication: Communicate concerns appropriately to coaches or committee
Health & Safety
Illness
- Do not attend if you are unwell
- Follow current health guidelines and directives
- Practice good hygiene (hand washing, sanitizing)
- Respect others’ personal space
Injuries
- Report all injuries to a coach or committee member
- First aid kit is available at the venue
- In case of serious injury, call 000
- Complete an incident report form for all injuries
Emergency Procedures
- Fire: Exit via nearest safe exit, assemble in car park
- Medical Emergency: Call 000, inform coach/committee member
- Evacuation: Follow instructions from officials
Hall Hire
Organizations hiring the hall must:
- Provide proof of public liability insurance (where required)
- Leave the hall clean and tidy
- Report any damage immediately
- Not exceed agreed occupancy numbers
- Comply with all club rules during hire period

Amendments
These rules and regulations may be amended by the TTTA Committee. Members will be notified of any significant changes.
