Townsville Closed Championships
The Townsville Closed Championships is TTTA’s premier club championship event, determining the Townsville champions across all categories.
Tournament Information
This prestigious two-day event features:
- Open Singles: Men’s and Women’s championships
- Junior Singles: Under 11, 13, 15, 17, 21
- Veterans Singles: 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+
- Grade Singles: A, B, C, D grades
- Doubles: Open, Junior, and Veterans
- Mixed Doubles
The Closed Championships showcase the best table tennis Townsville has to offer.
Eligibility
Open to all current TTTA members. Junior age categories are determined by age during the championship year.
Schedule
Saturday, November 14
- Registration: 8:30 AM
- Play begins: 9:00 AM
- Preliminary rounds and quarterfinals
Sunday, November 15
- Play resumes: 9:00 AM
- Semifinals and finals
- Championship presentations: Afternoon

Championship Titles
Winners earn the prestigious title of “Townsville Champion” in their category for the year. Names are added to the championship honor boards displayed at the clubhouse.
Registration
Register online via RevSport. Entry fees apply per event entered. All current TTTA members are encouraged to participate.
Entry Deadline: Typically 2 weeks before the tournament. Check RevSport for exact date.
What to Bring
- Table tennis bat (must comply with ITTF regulations)
- Indoor sports shoes (non-marking soles required)
- Playing shirt (must differ from ball color)
- Water bottle
- Lunch or money for canteen purchases
Spectators
Family, friends, and club members are encouraged to attend and support our players. This is a great opportunity to watch Townsville’s best table tennis players in action.
Venue
TTTA Clubhouse at 60 Charters Towers Road, Hermit Park. Climate-controlled environment with canteen and spectator seating.

The Townsville Closed Championships has been held annually for decades, continuing TTTA’s proud tradition since 1931. Winning a Townsville championship is a significant achievement in the local table tennis community.
